Better Quality of Life
Numerous surveys confirm that Scotland offers one of the highest qualities of life in Europe.

- Scotland is the third top location in the United Kingdom (Reward Group's 1998 quality of life index);
-
Glasgow ranks eleventh in terms of the quality of life it offers to employees (Healey and Baker survey of Europe's leading cities (1997)).
The population density is low - around five million people inhabit 30,000 square miles. Around 80 per cent of the population live in the central belt, an area around 70 miles by 30 miles between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland is home to a number of international festivals, including the world's biggest arts festival, and has several world-class art galleries and museums. Glasgow is one of the UK's main commercial and business centres, with fine shopping facilities, excellent and varied choice of restaurants, theatres and cinemas. Both cities enjoy the close proximity of mountains, glens, lochs and miles of unspoilt coastline.
