In August every year Edinburgh holds the world's largest International Arts festival. The main event is the renowned Edinburgh International Festival which offers the world's best ballet, opera, music and theatre. In addition though the city holds 6 festivals simultaneously, including Film, Jazz and the famous Fringe which offers a platform for experimental theatre, comedy and music in over 150 venues throughout the city.

Glasgow is the home of the renowned Burrell Collection and of Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on the banks of the Clyde is often the venue for pop stars and groups during their world tours.
